Huge Heavy-Gauge Slitter
for AL Structural-Tube Producer

Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL, has delivered a heavy-gauge coil-slitting line to the new ITC-AL, LLC structural-tube-producing plant in Decatur, AL. The new line can process hot-rolled coils to 74 in. wide and 5/8 in. thick, and weighing to 98,000 lb. The line includes a DC drag-generator double-cone uncoiler that handles coils with IDs from 24 to 34 in. and a recoiler that produces 30-in.-ID slit coils. Other line features include above-the-floor coil-loading/unloading cars, a powered straightener and a quick-change two-head turret head slitter.

Henning Software Dedicates New HQ in Ohio

Henning Software Inc. has dedicated its new corporate offices in Hudson, OH. The new headquarters for the provider of Visual EstiTrack enterprise-resource-planning/shop-management software includes a state-of-the-art training center for new and current Henning software users. The building dedication, which took place this past October, coincides with the company’s 15th anniversary.

New Contracts for Provider of Cost-Estimating Software

MTI Systems Inc., West Springfield, MA, a provider of cost-estimating software for manufacturing, has announced that it secured six new contracts. New clients include Oshkosh Truck, Delphi, BAE Systems, Siemens AG, Autoliv and Lenovo, and all have purchased MTI’s Costimator OEM software that allows operations to identify cost drivers in parts users design and procure. The software system also allows design and cost engineers to evaluate how making functional or design changes in parts affect manufacturing costs.
