Titan Steel to add High-Speed Red Bud Slitting Line

Feeding the growth of its flat-rolled division, steel distributor Titan Steel Corp., Baltimore, MD, has purchased a 72-in. Red Bud slitting line for its 110,000-sq.-ft. facility in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. The line, scheduled to begin operation in May 2004, will process coils as heavy as 60,000 lb. of material to 0.250-in. thick, and run at speeds to 1000 ft./min.
