Taiwanese Fastener Company
Opens Michigan Facility

The privately owned Lih-Ta group, a fastener-manufacturing company headquartered in Taiwan, has opened Pierce Fastener Products (PFP) Inc., in Manchester, MI, a manufacturer of pierce nuts. Expected to employ 30 people by second-quarter of 2009, PFP has an annual capacity of 250 million nuts and is currently tooled to manufacture three body styles—R205, S281 and S311. Hill Engineering Restructures, Moves

Hill Engineering, Carol Stream, IL, a Formtek company, has sold off its gasket tooling division and moved to new facilities. Western Enterprises, Westlake, OH, has provided more than 70 pieces of welding equipment to help get the new National Center for Welding Education and Training get off the ground. The center is scheduled to open next year at the Lorain County Community College, in Northeast Ohio. Western Enterprises donated, among other items, shielding-gas regulator/flowmeters, oxygen and acetylene regulators, torch and regulator flashback arrestors and quick disconnects.
