Titan Steel to add High-Speed Red Bud Slitting Line

Feeding the growth of its flat-rolled division, steel distributor Titan Steel Corp., Baltimore, MD, has purchased a 72-in. Red Bud slitting line for its 110,000-sq.-ft. facility in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. The line, scheduled to begin operation in May 2004, will process coils as heavy as 60,000 lb. of material to 0.250-in. thick, and run at speeds to 1000 ft./min.

Wolf Robotics, Fort Collins, CO, has purchased the assets of ABB’s Welding Systems Division, also in Fort Collins. The new company is part of the Rimrock group, currently ABB’s strategic partner for robotic automation.
