New Exit Technology Eases Building Evacuation

Notifier, Northford, CT, part of the Honeywell Life Safety Group, has introduced audible exit technology that reportedly improves building evacuation and can reduce evacuation times by as much as 75 percent. Onyx ExitPoint is a compact speaker installed near building exits or along egress routes that produces broadband noise, acting as an audible Exit sign. The product is triggered by the building’s fire-alarm control panel, alerting building occupants to the location of the nearest exit using directional sound.

ISO Cert. Upgraded for Paulo Products Facility

The Murfreesboro, TN, facility of Paulo Products Co. has been awarded accreditation to ISO/TS 16949:2002. The company, with other facilities in Nashville, TN, Willoughby, OH, St Louis and Kansas City, MO, Provides heattreating, brazing and metal finishing services. Besides the certification upgrade, Paulo-Murfreesboro is approved to the Ford Motor Co. HTX standard and has received the Ford Preferred Supplier award.

American Brazing Orders Two Vacuum Furnaces

American Brazing, Willoughby, OH, has ordered two horizontal-load vacuum furnaces from GM Enterprises. Each furnace offers a work zone of 42 by 42 by 60 in., gross load capacity of 8000 lb. and maximum temperature of 2450 F. The furnaces are expected to be installed in the second quarter of 2006, giving American Brazing nine GM and eight Abar-Ipsen vacuum furnaces to go along with three large continuous hydrogen furnaces.
