Fagor Arrasate Opens Press-Manufacturing Plant

Fagor Arrasate, based in Spain with U.S. offices in Bensenville, IL, has opened a new plant in Markina, Spain. The 22,000-sq.-ft. plant will produce mechanical presses in capacities to 10,000 kN. To aid manufacture, the plant will employ two 220,000-lb.-capacity overhead cranes and a press-assembly pit measuring 72 ft. long, 23 ft. wide and 13 ft. deep.
QDC System Set for Rheem Facility in Mexico

Rheem Manufacturing has chosen Lightning Time Savers, Inc., Nicholasville, KY, to provide a turnkey quick-die-change (QDC) system for seven presses at a new Rheem facility in Mexicalli, Mexico. Lightning will provide QDC engineering services and hardware including Optima hydraulic clamps and lifters, Half-Turn mechanical die clamps and Wardcraft Tee-Lift airbag die lifters, two two-tier mobile die carts, one two-station rail cart and several die storage and pre-stage racks. Anticipated startup date is mid-April 2002.
Camtek EDM Software Gets Global Sales Boost

Delcam, a leading UK-based CAD-CAM software developer, has agreed to begin selling, worldwide, wire-erosion software called PEPS Wire EDM, from UK-based Camtek.
