for Enhanced Die Development
Monday, December 13, 2004
AutoForm Engineering, a producer of die-face design and simulation software for the automotive and sheetmetal-forming industries, has announced a joint venture with German tool-coating company VST Keller.
“By combining sheetmetal forming simulation with expertise on material coatings for tools, this (joint venture) will provide our customers with new insights and knowhow on how to improve their tool designs early in the product-development process,” explains Dr. Waldemar Kubli, AutoForm Engineering CEO.
With the collaboration, the joint-venture partners believe customers will be able to identify tool-wear problems and solve them early, significantly reducing the amount and cost of tool modifications during die tryout and production startup phases.
