Manitoba Service Center to Welcome New Slitting Line

Cascadia Metals, a network of steel service centers operating in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the United States, has ordered a new Strand Extensioner slitting line from Herr-Voss Stamco. The new line, for the Cascadia facility in Manitoba, Canada, will provide rewound coils and offer leveling and burr reduction of slit material. Capacity: 0.012 to 1/4- in. material thickness, with incoming coil capacity to 50,000 lb. by 72 in. wide. More at

McGregor Metalworking Recognized for Supporting Local Schools

The Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) has named the McGregor Metalworking Companies, Springfield, OH, to its prestigious Honor Roll for 2013. The OSBA Honor Roll is a certificate of recognition for support of the Springfield school system. In 2011, the firm pioneered a summer internship program in collaboration with the Springfield High School STEM School. It also hosted several hundred students as part of National Manufacturing Day.
