LVD Strippit, Akron, NY, named Lieven Decloedt manufacturing manager, leading the firm’s machine shop, assembly and manufacturing-engineering initiatives. He previously served as the firm’s product engineering manager in Belgium. Also recently added to the LVD Strippit manufacturing-management team is Michael Stanchak, appointed assembly supervisor. LVD Strippit manufactures turret punch presses, laser-cutting machines, press brakes, shears and programming software;

Welding-equipment manufacturer Fronius USA, Brighton, MI, added Rick Whitfield as area sales manager, working out of Chattanooga, TN. The firm provides arc-, resistance-, and plasma-welding equipment, automation products and welding accessories;

Coe Press Equipment, Sterling Heights, MI, a supplier of coil-handling equipment, named Benjamin Goers quality manager, a new position within the company. He’ll oversee the firm’s quality-management system and implementation of ISO 9001;


Louisiana to Welcome New Hot-Rolling Tube Mill

Caddo, LA will be the new home of a $900 million hot-rolling tube mill, to be built by Germany’s Benteler Steel/Tube. The mill will employ an estimated 675 full-time workers when at full capacity. Benteler will ramp-up tube production in the United States to meet growing demand driven by the renewed focus by the U.S. government to reduce energy imports and increase production of crude oil and natural gas.
