The Robotics Industry Association and Design Safety Engineering, Inc. have announced the merger of designsafe and Robot Risk Assessment software programs, creating a software tool to assist robotics users with risk-assessment needs.
Because an increasing number of manufacturers use robots side-by-side with other manufacturing equipment, the robot risk-assessment application has been integrated into designsafe version 4. A free demo of the software is available at

3DQuickPress Enters Latin American Market

3DQuickPress, a 3D CAD die-design system, will be sold and serviced in Mexico through CAD AVSHEIP S.A. of Monterrey, Mexico. The new alliance between CAD AVSHEIP and 3D QuickTools Ltd., the developer of 3DQuickPress, covers 3DQuickPress for SolidWorks and related products, and marks the introduction of the technology to the Latin American marketplace. The system had been introduced to U.S. and European markets in 2004.
