A.J. Rose Receives CAGE Code
to Supply the U.S. Government

Metalforming company A.J. Rose Mfg., Cleveland, OH, has been granted a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code by the Defense Logistics Information Service. The code is a unique identifier assigned to suppliers to various government or defense agencies. Although originated by the Department of Defense (DoD), CAGE codes also are used by the Department of Transportation and NASA, and other federal government agencies. A.J. Rose offers transfer-press capacity to 1000 tons, progressive-die press capacity to 600 tons, and also performs spinning, CNC machining, welding, grinding and other processes; www.ajrose.com.


GM’s Flint Metal Center
to Welcome New Transfer Presses

Two huge transfer presses are on their way to the General Motors Flint (MI) Metal Center, the firm’s 55-yr.-old stamping plant recently pegged to take on work from several other GM stamping plants. Along with the new transfer presses, for which the plant is busy laying new foundations, the plant is busy rebuilding several smaller presses. Flint Metal Center encompasses 1.6 million sq. ft. on 85 acres and employs 1200 hourly workers. In 2008, it shipped 292 tons of metal stampings.

Tekfab Inc., Albany, OR, has launched a new, updated website, www.tekfabinc.com, featuring its high-speed punching, cutting and material-handling equipment for the metalforming industry. The firm also designs and builds part stackers, offload tables, powered material carts, uncoilers and complete rollforming systems. The website includes videos and photos, and testimonials from customers. Tekfab recently secured its first order for the solar industry, to supply an automated drill and saw system to process extruded aluminum profiles used as structural mounts for photovoltaic arrays.
