Metrologic Group to Provide Software
for Renishaw CMM Controller

Wednesday, November 20, 2002
A software development agreement has been signed between Renishaw plc, a supplier of metrology products, and the Metrologic Group, a designer and manufacturer of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection software, whereby the Metrologic Group will develop its Metrolog II software to run on Renishaw’s UCC1 universal CMM controller platform, and Renishaw will use the newly developed software in its worldwide demonstration facilities. The partnership, according to Metrologic officials, will enable users of the company’s software to take advantage of the Renishaw UCC1 controller, which optimizes the CMM/probe sensor interface for part-checking speed and accuracy. The controller includes advanced scanning algorithms, which allow rapid, accurate, adaptive part-scanning at velocities limited only by the dynamic performance of the CMM. Using the UCC1, speeds in excess of 300 mm/sec can be achieved. For more, visit
