Schuler, Positech to Provide Laminating Presses

An agreement between Schuler Inc., Canton, MI, and Positech, Lexington, TN, has Schuler supplying the mechanical portions of Models N8C and N20C manually operated notchers, and Positech integrating its Compuslot controls and servo-drive technology to provide presses used to produce electric-motor laminations. Schuler will handle the spare-parts, service and retrofit programs for the presses. It’s also responsible for sales and marketing of N8C and N20C Compuslot notchers, as well as the service of all existing and new Positech notching presses installed in North America. Iowa Heattreater Expanding

Advanced Heat Treat Corp., Waterloo, IA, has completed a 25,000-sq.-ft. addition to its facility, and plans to install three new 3000-lb. atmosphere furnaces in the plant, with the ability to add two more furnaces. The addition also allows the company to add secondary heattreat operations, such as straightening, cleaning and polishing. The firm performs carburizing, carbonitriding, induction hardening, quench and temper, oxidation treatment, cold treatment, annealing, normalizing, stress relieving, tempering/drawing, and age/precipitation hardening.
