Friction Stir Link, Inc., Waukesha, WI, has enhanced its job-shop welding facility to encompass 4000 sq. ft. of floor space and contain a variety of friction-stir-welding (FSW) equipment. It also houses a variety of weld-testing and analysis equipment. Equipment can perform continuous FSW as well as single-sided FSW spot welds. The firm welds manually as well as with hard automation and robots, to perform prototype development as well as low-volume production work.

Bertsch Company, Cambridge City, IN, a 120-year-old company specializing in bending-roll technology, has been acquired by Mega Manufacturing, Inc., Hutchinson, KS. Bertsch produces heavy-duty production rolls in three- and four-roll configurations; Mega manufactures the Piranha line of ironworkers, press brakes and other metal-fabrication equipment.
