Lincoln Acquisitions Add Cutting-System Muscle

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, acquired three business units from ITT Corp.: Kaliburn, Burny and Cleveland Motion Control (CMC). Kaliburn manufactures shape-cutting machines; Burny produces cutting control systems; and CMC provides web-tension transducers and engineered machine solutions. All three businesses are consolidated in a headquarters and manufacturing operation in Landson, SC, employing 140 people and with combined annual sales of $35 million.

FABTECH Draws Thousands to Vegas

The numbers: 15,000 and 26,000. That’s how many folks attended FABTECH in Las Vegas on its first day (Monday, November 12) and overall. By all accounts the metalforming and fabricating show was a tremendous success, as exhibitors were taking numerous equipment orders right from the show floor. And, optimism for 2013 abounds, as show organizers already have booked more than 500,000 square feet of exhibit space for the 2013 FABTECH show in Chicago.

List of Certified Robot Integrators Now at 10

The Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, MI, has awarded RIA Certified Robot Integrator status to two Midwest companies, bringing the total number of certified integrators to 10. Freshly certified: QComp Technologies, Inc., Greenville, WI; and Wynright Robotics Solutions, Elk Grove Village, IL. Integrators earn the certification after undergoing a rigorous on-side audit, safety training and hands-on testing of key personnel. Here’s more about the program.
