Carl Zeiss Industrial Measuring Technology, manufacturer of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), has purchased 75 percent of Dr. Wolf & Beck GmbH, a manufacturer of optoelectronic distance-measuring sensors located in Wangen/Goppingen, Germany. Carl Zeiss is based in Oberkochen, Germany, with a U.S. facility in Minneapolis, MN. Wolf & Beck noncontact sensors are used in CMMs. For more information, visit

New Inductive-Sensor Company Formed

Lion Precision, St. Paul, MN, has formed a new product group specializing in inductive displacement sensing technology. Lion Precision Inductive, Colorado Springs, CO, will focus on eddy-current and other inductive technologies in order to develop and manufacture noncontact displacement sensors and systems. Atlas Awarded ISO 14001 Certification

Atlas Technologies, Inc., Fenton, MI, supplier of pressroom automation equipment and stamping systems, has earned ISO 14001 certification. The certification confirms that the company has an Environmental Management System that meets international standards. It requires a company to establish an environmental policy, plan objectives with measurable targets and have programs to meet those targets, take corrective action when needed and make the information available to customers and to the public.
