Hydraulic Presses Flying High in Aerospace Applications
Thursday, November 14, 2013
Greenerd Press & Machine Co., Inc., Nashua, NH, has delivered three bench-type C-frame 40-ton hydraulic straightening presses to a U.S. aircraft manufacturer. The presses will be used to straighten wing spar cords, and feature electronic joystick ram control based on proportional valve technology. This enables precise speed and force control at any point in the presses’ 14-in. stroke. To ensure operator safety, release of either the joystick or palm button instantly stops the ram.
