Installs Precision Blanking Line at Service Center

Steel service center Franklin Stainless Corp., Port Washington, NY, has installed a new state-of-the-art blanking line for handling stainless-steel coils to 60 in. wide, of stock to 0.135 in. thick, with coil weight to 30,000 lb. The line, from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL, replaces an old cut-to-length line, and dramatically improves blank tolerances, to within plus or minus 0.005 in.
Trumpf Companies Named Factory of the Year

German magazine "Produktion" has named two Trump companies winners of its Factory of the Year award. Trumpf Lasertechnik GmbH and Trumpf Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH + Co. KG, both located in Ditzingen, Germany, were awarded the prize. THe magazine has hosted the benchmarking competition for 11 years. Its jury praised Trumpf for its high processing quality, excellent teamwork and its use of easily controllable decentralized production units.
Hudapack Metal Treating Achieves ISO Upgrade

Hudapack Metal Treating, Elkhorn, WI, a commercial heat treater serving Chicago, Milwaukee and Rockford manufacturers, has been awarded an upgrade to ISO 9001:2000 certification. The firm employs 70 people in a 42,000-sq.ft. plant. It's online at
