SICK Group Acquires Stegmann

SICK AG, a German manufacturer of industrial sensors, safety systems and automatic identification products for factory automation, has acquired Max Stegmann GmbH, a manufacturer of shaft encoders and actuators for automation technology. It’s a strategic acquisition for SICK to complete its portfolio of factory-automation technology. In the United States, SICK, Inc., Minneapolis, MN, and Stegmann, Inc., Dayton, OH, North American subsidiary of Max Stegmann GmbH, will continue to operate independently.
Emhart Teknologies Acquires
Licensing for Threaded Inserts

Emhart Teknologies, New Haven, CT, a supplier of assembly equipment, has acquired the licensing business of Refac Technologies, LLC, Edgewater, NJ. The transaction gives Emhart exclusive ownership and worldwide licensing rights for Heli-Coil screw thread inserts and Dodge threaded inserts for plastics. The buy is part of Emhart efforts to unify product lines and protect investment in its key product brands, according to company officials. With the acquisition, Emhart appointed Greg Wind as global marketing manager for the two lines.
