Trumpf Companies Named Factory of the Year

German magazine "Produktion" has named two Trump companies winners of its Factory of the Year award. Trumpf Lasertechnik GmbH and Trumpf Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH + Co. KG, both located in Ditzingen, Germany, were awarded the prize. THe magazine has hosted the benchmarking competition for 11 years. Its jury praised Trumpf for its high processing quality, excellent teamwork and its use of easily controllable decentralized production units.
Hudapack Metal Treating Achieves ISO Upgrade

Hudapack Metal Treating, Elkhorn, WI, a commercial heat treater serving Chicago, Milwaukee and Rockford manufacturers, has been awarded an upgrade to ISO 9001:2000 certification. The firm employs 70 people in a 42,000-sq.ft. plant. It's online at

Lincoln Electric to Acquire Hyundai Welding

Hyundai Welding, the leading welding-consumables manufacturer in South Korea and a major supplier to other Asian markets, will soon be acquired by Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH. The deal should close during the 2002 fourth quarter. The acquisition furthers Lincoln's global growth plan, fitting with its recent acquisitions in Latin America and Eastern Europe.
