Compared to ISO 9001:2000, the new standard, issued about a year ago, includes some important differences. For starters, according to the website of Praxiom Research Group, it emphasizes the need to ensure that outsourced processes comply with all customer and legal requirements. And, in the area of customer requirements, the new standard holds companies accountable for identifying specific post-delivery requirements such as warranty provisions, contractual obligations such as maintenance, and supplementary services such as recycling and final disposal.
