ThyssenKrupp VDM USA Merges with Sister Company

ThyssenKrupp VDM USA, Inc., Florham Park, NJ, the sales and distribution arm of the German supplier of high-performance nickel alloys, cobalt alloys and specialty stainless steels, has merged with its sister company Precision Rolled Products, Inc., also based in Florham Park, NJ. The combined sales and business support teams employs 222 at its headquarters, two production sites (in Florham Park and Reno, NV), and its sales and technical support offices throughout the United States. Precision Rolled Products melts and forms super alloys at its NJ facility for aircraft gas turbines and airframes, and performs hot rolling, cold drawing and finishing at its NV plant.

Metrology-Services Provider Grows Via Acquisition

Exact Metrology, Inc., Algonquin, IL, has acquired Berding 3D Scanning, Cincinnati, OH, a provider of reverse-engineering and laser-scanning services. Exact Metrology will continues to offer all of those services, as well as sell, service and implement metrology equipment from several manufacturers. The acquisition gives the firm additional trained field service engineers, facilitating faster customer service for on- and off-site inspections. Learn more at

Pneumatic Stamping-Press Builder Expands Facility

Airam Press Co. Ltd., Covington, OH, has completed the expansion of its facility, which now encompasses 22,000 sq. ft. The enlarged plant, which includes a new 20-ton overhead crane, allows the firm to house larger machinery and assembly equipment to support production of bigger presses. Airam manufactures custom-engineered pneumatic presses from 3 to 210 tons for stamping, piercing, blanking, forming, cutoff, coining, embossing, laminating and assembly;
