The PennEngineering operations in Danboro, PA, and Kunshan, China, have received Aerospace Standard AS9100 approval, joining the firm’s other operations in Corona, CA (3V Fastners Co.) and Leland, NC (QRP, Inc.) AS9100 builds on ISO 9000, adding specific requirements for the aerospace industry to further ensure safety, reliability and quality of aerospace products. Five robotic-welding cells weren’t enough for Germantown Tool & Machine Inc., Huntingdon Valley, PA—the firm had to go out and purchase two more. The metal stamper and sheetmetal fabrication shop, with 50 employees and a 55,000-sq.-ft. facility, acquired a pair of Fanuc six-axis robots partnered with Lincoln Electric PowerWave 455M arc-welding power supplies. Robots boast 65-in. reach and 35-lb. payload. More at
