AutoForm and Tebis Team
to Provide Die-Making Software

Friday, October 27, 2006

AutoForm Engineering, with a U.S. office in Troy, MI, and Tebis AG of Germany have announced that they are cooperating to provide combined software technologies for die-making industries. AutoForm develops die-face design and simulation software for die-making and sheetmetal-forming industries while Tebis provides 3D CAD/CAM software primarily for model, mold and die manufacturing. “The method of using Tebis RSC (Rapid Surface Creation) to create die surfaces is an ideal complement to the AutoForm-DieDesigner technology,” says Robert Cesak, Tebis president, describing the integrated software system. “Process planners and die designers that use both software in combination will benefit from improved CAE/CAD functionalities that result in significant time savings in the layout, design and modification of their dies.” For more, visit www.autoform.com and www.tebis.com.

Thursday, October 26, 2006

Surf to www.mastercam.com for new multimedia presentations that explore the latest features in the Mastercam X family of CAD/CAM machining software. Included are downloadable video demonstrations, narrated overviews and documentation highlighting new tools. For example, the Mastercam X High Feed Optimization video focuses on the benefits of software’s High Feed Optimization, including how this function can optimize tooling and machine-tool capabilities. Viewers learn how the high-feed technology automatically adjusts the feed rate based on the volume of material in which the tool is engaged. Windows-based Mastercam, developed by CNC Software, Inc., is for two- through five-axis milling and turning; two- and four-axis wire EDM; 2D and 3D design, surface and solid modeling; artistic relief cutting; and 2D and 3D routing.
