Johnson Controls to Relocate Seat-Systems Work

Johnson Controls announced that seat-assembly business recently awarded by Ford will be moved from Chesterfield Township, MI, to the Johnson Controls plant in Plymouth Township, MI, as well as a plant in Warren, MI, operated by the company’s Bridgewater Interiors joint venture.
Seat-building operations for the Focus and Town Car will move to Plymouth in July 2004, where seats for Lincoln LS models currently are being built.
Coil Provider Adds More Oscillating Capability

Specialty Strip & Oscillating, Inc., Masury, OH, has purchased a new machine for oscillating coils. The new oscillator allows the company to provide customers with heavier-gauge oscillated materials. In addition, because oscillated coils allow placement of more material on a coil reel than traditional ribbon-wound coil, users can minimize downtime needed for coil change
Also, the company announced it will allow potential customers free use of a stock reel for a trial run of oscillated coil, with Specialty shipping and setting up the stock reel at no charge.
