DaimlerChrysler Energizes its Welder-Training Program

Thermadyne Industries, Inc., St. Louis, MO, has become the single-source provider of state-of-the-art welding equipment and welder-training programs at the United Auto Workers National Training Center for DaimlerChrysler, in Warren, MI. The training facility houses 12 welding stations and two cutting stations, equipped from Thermadyne’s Thermal Arc, Thermal Dynamics, Victor and Tweco product lines. The center annually trains some 650 workers.
Metal-Finishing Associations Reorganize

The American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (AESF), the Metal Finishing Suppliers’ Association (MFSA) and the National Association of Metal Finishers (NAMF) have approved the reorganization of their organizations, creating (as of January 1, 2007) the new National Association of Surface Finishing (NASF). Together they’ll also launch the AESF Foundation to focus on technical-education programs to advance the science and technology of surface finishing. Both the NASF and AESF will call Washington, D. C., home.
Plasma-Cutting Supplier Gains New Identity

InnerLogic, Charleston, SC, has unveiled a new corporate identity, complete with a new name, logo and tagline. The company is now Kaliburn, with the tagline Plasma Cutting Innovation. The name is derived from ‘Caliburn,’ the name of King Arthur’s sword and which is rooted in the Latin word ‘chalybs,’ meaning ‘steel.’
