Aida-America Celebrates Expansion

Earlier this month, Aida-America Corp. celebrated the grand opening of its facility expansion and 10 years of manufacturing in Huber Heights, OH, near Dayton. Also being celebrated: the 90oth anniversary of parent company Aida-Engineering Ltd. The facility expansion totals 17,600 sq. ft. and allows the firm to bring large-component welding inhouse and to increase its capacity for large-component machining. Learn more at

Leifeld Metal Spinning GmbH Under New Ownership

Gruppe Georg Kofler has acquired 95 percent of the shares of Leifeld Metal Spinning GmbH, Ahlen, Germany, a manufacturer of metal-spinning equipment. Leifeld, which operates in the United States as Leifeld USA Metal Spinning, Colorado Springs, CO, has nearly tripled its revenues since 2004, while its number of employees has doubled. Learn more at

Lincoln Electric Earns Presidential Recognition

Key executives from welding-equipment supplier Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, recently were honored as a President’s E-Star Award recipient, for the firm’s ongoing excellence in exporting products manufactured in the United States. Receiving the award from President Bush at a White House ceremony were Lincoln’s chairman, president and CEO John M. Stropki; senior vice president—sales and marketing Richard J. Seif; and senior vice president—global engineering and U.S. operations George Blankenship. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the award, created by President Kennedy in 1961.
