Roll-Kraft, Mentor, OH, has added a laser marking system to enhance the legibility of information etched into company products. Laser etching provides safe, clean marking without producing stress on part surfaces, according to company officials. An ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management System Certificate has been awarded to Kendale Industries, Inc., Valley View and Independence, OH, for manufacture and supply of washers, stampings, screw-machine products and turned parts. Kendale (
www.kendaleinc.com) operates in four buildings totaling 228,000 sq. ft., employs more than 250 and runs more than 42 presses, from 22 to 150 tons. It has manufactured thousands of die sets for round washers, and makes these off-the-shelf tooling available to customers at no charge. Compound washer die sets can produce as many as 15 washers per stroke.
Oregon Steel Mills Acquires
Former LTV Structural-Tube Facility

Steel-product (plate, coil, welded pipe, etc.) supplier Oregon Steel Mills, Inc., Portland, OR, has leased, with an option to buy, the equipment of the former LTV Structural Tube Facility in Portland, OR. The facility, known as Columbia Structural Tubing (CST), houses a slitting line, structural-tubing mill and proprietary in-line coating system. The mill can produce rectangular hollow sections from 2.5 to 10 in. The slitting line handles steel to 0.625-in. thick and 110-in. wide.
