Lincoln Electric Earns Presidential Recognition

Key executives from welding-equipment supplier Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., Cleveland, OH, recently were honored as a President’s E-Star Award recipient, for the firm’s ongoing excellence in exporting products manufactured in the United States. Receiving the award from President Bush at a White House ceremony were Lincoln’s chairman, president and CEO John M. Stropki; senior vice president—sales and marketing Richard J. Seif; and senior vice president—global engineering and U.S. operations George Blankenship. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the award, created by President Kennedy in 1961. Leifeld Metal Spinning GmbH Under New Ownership

Gruppe Georg Kofler has acquired 95 percent of the shares of Leifeld Metal Spinning GmbH, Ahlen, Germany, a manufacturer of metal-spinning equipment. Leifeld, which operates in the United States as Leifeld USA Metal Spinning, Colorado Springs, CO, has nearly tripled its revenues since 2004, while its number of employees has doubled. Learn more at

Red Bud to Double its Facility Size

To meet increased demand for its coil-processing equipment, Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL, will expand its manufacturing facility, doubling its size to more than 200,000 sq. ft. The new addition—four 40-ft.-tall bays with 80-ton crane capacity--will house two new Mazak machining centers with pallet-server systems to allow the machines to run unattended at night and on weekends.
