Airam Press Co. Ltd., Covington, OH, has completed the expansion of its facility, which now encompasses 22,000 sq. ft. The enlarged plant, which includes a new 20-ton overhead crane, allows the firm to house larger machinery and assembly equipment to support production of bigger presses. Heavy-Duty Multi-Blanking Line Headed for Illinois

Midwest Steel Blanking Inc., Lombard, IL, has ordered a 72- by 0.135-in. by 40,000-lb.-capacity multi-blanking line from B&K, a division of Formtek Maine, Clinton, ME. Midwest Steel Blanking operates a 25,000-sq.-ft. facility and processes 21 million lb. of steel annually. The new B&K line features an uncoiler with an ultrasonic variable-tension brake system, hands-free thread-up, a corrective leveler, dual-sided threading table, four-roll servo feed and a scrap winder to take care of edge-trim material. Laser Institute and OSHA Renew Alliance

The Laser Institute of America (LIA) has renewed its alliance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to continue providing its members with information to help prevent exposure to laser-beam and non-beam hazards in industrial and medical workplaces. OSHA and LIA share information on laser regulations and standards, and the alliance has recently produced the Laser Safety Information Bulletin.
