Hypertherm Acquires CAM-Software Company

MTC Software, provider of ProNest, TurboNest and other computer-aided manufacturing software used for sheetmetal and plate fabrication, has been acquired by Hypertherm Inc., Hanover, NH. Hypertherm manufactures plasma-arc-cutting equipment, and will marry MTC’s software to its CNC motion-control products. MTC headquarters will remain in Lockport, NY. Learn more at

Plexus Systems Changes Name,
Announces Expansion Plans

Plex Systems, Inc. is the new name taken by Plexus Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI, which also renamed its flagship product, Plexus Online, to Plex Online. The product is a software-as-a-service ERP package for manufacturers. Also, coming on the heels of record growth in 2008, the company announced expansion plans in 2009 that call for its software developers and other technical staff to move into a new 20,000-sq.-ft. facility in Auburn Hills, and the hiring of an additional 20 to 40 people. Stamper Earns SHARP Status from OSHA

HK Metalcraft Manufacturing Corp., Lodi, NJ, has been accepted by OSHA as a participant in its Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), for the term September 18, 2008, to September 18, 2009. HK Metalcraft worked with the New Jersey on-site consultation program to meet the requirements of the SHARP program, and in doing so it is removed from the programmed inspection schedule until September 18, 2009.
