Strippit/LVD to Establish Mexico Subsidiary

In order to provide direct sales and service support o the Mexican marketplace, Strippit/LVD, Akron, NY, has announced plans to establish a sales and service subsidiary in Queretaro City, Mexico. The new company should be fully operational during first-quarter 2002. It will sell and service the firm's complete product line, including CNC turret punch presses, laser systems, press brakes, shears and CAD/CAM programming software. Good News for 2002?

The results of the November Business Conditions Report, released by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), reflect the first forecast of optimism among member manufacturers since the September 11 attacks. Twenty-four percent of 198 responding manufacturing companies feel economic activity will increase in coming months, a 13-percent increase over October results. Only 23 percent predicted a further-downward turn, a 26-percent decrease from October. In addition, respondents expect a 35-percent increase in orders during the next three months, a much more positive outlook over October numbers. Aida Establishes New Distributor for Central Corridor
