Tuesday, January 31, 2006
Braner/Loopco, Schiller Park, IL, has installed a turret-head coil-slitting and automatic slit-coil packaging line at the new 279,000-sq.-ft. plant of Marino/Ware, a metal-frame manufacturer in East Chicago, IN. The firm produces cold-formed steel construction products. The slitting line can process cold-rolled and galvanized-steel coils to 60,000 lb. by 72-in. wide in thicknesses from 0.012 to 0.25 in. Line speed peaks at 1500 ft./min. Its turret-head slitter employs three quick-change slitter heads, and a loop-control strip tensioner enables processing of oily and surface-critical coil. The packaging line features a four-arm turnstile, downender, semiautomatic strapping machine and six-station coil-sorting turntable. Learn more at
