Handy & Harman Acquires French Supplier

The Precious Metals Group of Handy & Harman, Milwaukee, WI, has acquired Protechno S.A., a French manufacturer and distributor of brazing and soldering materials. Handy & Harman, a supplier of metal-joining products, expects to use the acquisition as a platform for growth and expansion in Europe.

Engel Industries Acquires Lion Machinery

The Formtek Group of companies, Itasca, IL, which includes Engel Industries, St. Louis, MO, announced that Engel has acquired the operating assets of Lion Machinery, Pacific, MO. Engel offers HVAC duct-forming equipment and general fabricating and rollforming equipment. Lion also produces metalforming equipment for HVAC and general fabrication applications, including cleat and cheek benders and cleat folders. Lion operations and key employees have been relocated to Engel’s facility.
In related news, Formtek announced that Engel seeks to move from its current 42,400-sq.-ft. facility to a larger facility with at least 60,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, expandable to 150,000 sq. ft., with 20-ft.-high ceilings, 40- to 45-ft.-wide bays and 20- to 30-ton crane capacity.
