Ohio Stamper/Fabricator Grows Via Acquisition

Metal stamper and fabricator Defiance Metal Products (DMP), Defiance, OH, has acquired Medalist Laserfab, Inc., a privately held metal-fabrication company in Oshkosh, WI. The acquisition expands DMP’s presence into the upper Midwest, and provides Medalist’s customer base access to DMP’s network of manufacturing plants in Ohio as well as in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Texas and China. Medalist’s largest customer is specialty-vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corp., which supplies the U.S. Army with all-terrain vehicles. Learn more at

Motoman's Elkins Takes the Helm

Dean Elkins, senior general manager of Motoman Inc., West Carrollton, OH, has been elected chairman of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) for 2010. Elkins has served on the RIA Board of Directors since 2000, and on its statistics and show committees.
