Carmel, IL, which operates the Brown Machinery division, a manufacturer of thermoforming machines, and Pacific Press Technologies division, a manufacturer of hydraulic presses, press brakes and shears, has been acquired by Spell Capital, Minneapolis, MN. Spell Capital has eight portfolio companies, and PPT represents the fourth portfolio company in its third fund and its first investment in a capital-goods manufacturing company.
