The American Welding Society, Miami, FL, has released AWS D8.7M:2005,
Recommended Practices for Automotive Weld Quality—Resistance Spot Welding. The document offers advice and criteria for evaluating welds in coated and uncoated automotive sheetmetal applications. It describes weld characteristics, metrics and testing methods useful in evaluating weld quality, under static and dynamic loading. The document was last updated in 1988. Online Calculator for Forming Limit Diagrams

Engineering Quality Solutions, Inc., Southfield, MI, has added an online FLCo calculator to its website,
www.eqsgroup.com. FLCo values, based on sheetmetal thickness and n-value, can then be used to generate forming-limit diagrams for use in circle-grid strain analysis, tooling development and buyoff and formability problem solving.
