Monday, January 27, 2003
Renishaw plc and Metrologic Group have signed a software-development agreement whereby Metrologic Group will develop its Metrolog II software to run on Renishaw’s UCC1 universal coordinate-measuring-machine (CMM) controller platform. The partnership, according to officials from both companies, allows users of Metrologic software to take advantage of the controller, which reportedly optimizes the CMM/probe sensor interface for maximum part-checking speed and accuracy. Using the UCC1, speeds in excess of 300 mm/sec. can be achieved. Metrologic, Grenoble, France, has offices in the United States, Germany and Italy. Renishaw has a U.S. office in Hoffman Estates, IL.
