The American Welding Society (AWS), Miami, FL, now offers individual chapters of Volumes 1 through 4 of its Welding Handbook as downloadable files from its publications website. These four chapters cover Welding Science and Technology; Welding Processes, Parts 1 and 2; and Materials and Applications, Part 1. Price: $20/chapter for non-AWS member, $15/chapter for members. Metal Stamper Launches into Sheetmetal Fabrication

Chirch Global Manufacturing, LLC, McHenry, IL, a precision metal stamper that offers tool and die services, assembly and JIT delivery, has partnered with Amada America Inc. to install an automated sheetmetal-fabrication cell. Included is a servo-driven22-ton turret punch press, a hybrid servo-hydraulic press brake, an automated load and unload material-handling system and robotic finished-parts stacking. Chirch also opted for Amada’s offline-programming software, which helps keep production personnel focused on value-added production tasks.
