The Automotive Group of Johnson Controls Inc., Milwaukee, WI, has begun implementing a new comprehensive operations-management lean-operations software solution across its 30 North American manufacturing facilities. It is deploying the Factory Logic Lean Operations Management System, from Factory Logic, Austin, TX, to integrate leveling, sequencing, scheduling and Kanban/supermarket capabilities to allow the firm to respond better to changes in demand, production and inventory levels. De-Sta-Co Industries, Madison Heights, MI, has opened a new facility in Shanghai, China, to serve as headquarters for support of the firm’s offices operating throughout China. The office allows the company to make its robotic automation products, including grippers, slides and end effectors, readily available to the Asian market.
