Specialty Rim Supply, a supplier of spun aluminum rims to the automotive aftermarket since 1992, has been awarded two patents for its development of a "soft-look" outer. The rim design gives the wheel a big, deep look and enables wheel manufacturers to offer several offset options to consumers. "Soft-look" wheels come 14- to 22-in. diameter.

Braner Slitter Headed for Ferguson Metals

Late this year, stainless-steel and nickel-ally distributor Ferguson Metals Inc., Hamilton, OH, will take delivery of a 50-in. dual-head slitter from Braner USA, Schiller Par, IL. The slitter will process sheet 0.009 to 0.135-in. thick. “The new equipment will allow us to process more material in less time, along with a reduction in scrap,” said H. Wayne Ferguson, president.
