Feed Lease Servo Feed Installed
at New Bremen Machine & Tool

Seventy-five-year-old metal stamper and tool-and-die house New Bremen (OH) Machine & Tool Co., Inc., has installed a new servo roll feed from Feed Lease Corp., Rochester Hills, MI. The 24-in.-wide servo feed, a Model SRF 3 x 24, includes 3-in.-dia. crodon-surfaced feed rolls, sealed-for-life ball bearings and dual pneumatic cylinders for roll lift and pilot release. It’s coupled to a five-roll pull-through straightener and includes a PLC-based drive package, brushless servo motor, integrated batch counter, and micro adjust for on-the-fly feed-length adjustment.

Dialalube Inc., Windsor, Ontario, Canada, has begun marketing a patented oil-application system for metal stampers that it claims can reduce oil consumption by 90 percent. R&D units, it says, have been operating at Windsor/Detroit manufacturing plants for 8 years, with measurable improvements noted.
