Macsteel to Add Heattreat Capacity

Macsteel will be adding a fourth quench and temper line with induction heating, similar to three existing lines, at its heattreat operation in Huntington, IN. The new line, to be completed early in 2007, is part of $6.2 million plant expansion that will add 16,000 tons of bar and tube capacity.

The Robotics Industry Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, MI, has debuted the Robot Market Incubator Program, a comprehensive effort to develop new markets for robotic technology. The initial element of the program, the Robot Market Assessment Program, has just gotten underway. Under it, interested parties may receive RIA funding and support for formalized analysis of potential new markets for industrial robots.
