to Train Motoman-Robot Operators

The Ivy Tech Community College campus in Columbus, IN, has been named a Motoman Endorsed Robotics Instructor Training (Merit) Center. Through the Merit program, community colleges and universities can become an extension of the Motoman training department. Ivy Tech will deliver the company’s DX100 basic programming course, with possible expansion to include other courses and additional Ivy Tech campuses throughout Indiana; www.ivytech.edu

Grant to Prepare Engineers to be Entrepreneurs

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has received a $75,000 grant from the Kern Family Foundation to fund the second part of a program aimed at providing engineers with entrepreneurial skills and experience. In the first phase of the program, WPI used a $50,000 Kern grant to create a new course titled Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as two workshops to teach instructors how to integrate the subject into their courses. Second-phase activities will aim to broaden the reach of entrepreneurship education at WPI.
