Welding-Electrode Maker Expands Operations

Select-Arc, Inc., Fort Loramie, OH, added 30,000 sq. ft. to its facility to expand its manufacturing-production and warehousing capacity. NAM Education Arm Receives a Shot in the Arm

Thanks to a grant of $538,000 from the Lumina Foundation for Education, The Manufacturing Institute/Center for Workforce Success of the National Association for Manufacturers (NAM) has launched its Business Champions initiative. The NAM research and education arm will use the initiative to bring together U.S. business leaders to support policies that expand educational opportunities aimed at building a stronger U.S. workforce. Business leaders will work with elected policymakers, higher-education officials and employers in their regions and states to improve workforce-development capacity of community colleges, and to reduce the costs of higher education.
