UGS to Purchase Tecnomatix Technologies

UGS, Plano, TX, a provider of product lifecycle-management software, plans to acquire the outstanding equity of Israeli company Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd., with North American operations based in Northville, MI. Tecnomatix (www.tecnomatix.com) provides manufacturing process-management software for the automotive, electronics, aerospace and other industries. Following the close of the transaction, the companies intend to offer an integrated software package. The transaction is the fourth for UGS since it launched independent operations in May 2004. Metal Stamper Adds Seam Welder to its Stable

Bettcher Amherst Metal Stamping, Brook Park, OH, has purchased a new push-through seam-welding machine that it says will weld in one shift what used to take an entire day to weld. The machine can weld a 2.75-in.-dia. part in 6 sec., compared to 30 sec. before. Bettcher provides high-volume precision metal stampings, multi-slide parts, wire forms, large transfer-die stampings and heavy deep-drawn parts. It’s online at www.bettcherllc.com.

Lincoln Electric to Purchase Brazing Supplier
