The new plasma-cutting machine at stainless-steel service center Penn Stainless, Quakertown, PA, marries two Koike Aronson Versagraph Millennium Series Model 3100 cutting machines with a common rail system to offer a cutting envelope 10 ft. wide by 65 ft. long. Using Hypertherm’s HPR800XD HyPerformance plasma technology, the machine is rated for 6.25-in.-thick stainless-steel plate, and leaves a slight 1- to 3-deg. bevel on thick plate, compared to a 7- to 10-deg. bevel using standard plasma-cutting technology.
