Touted as North America’s largest zinc-electroplating line, the new line at Gatto Industrial Platers, Inc., Chicago, IL, can plate parts as long as 27 ft. that weigh as much as 8000 lb. Its tanks measure 4 ft. wide and 7.5 ft. deep.

Large parts that previously had to be galvanized or painted can be plated with a high-performance clear trivalent chromate-zinc finish, say company officials.
