…is projected to increase by 21 percent per year, to $5 billion in 2017, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group, Cleveland, OH. The study includes projected demand for the printers as well as for related materials, scanners and software. Noteworthy: while plastics will continue to account for the majority of 3D printing applications, faster growth is projected for metals, in markets such as automotive and aerospace.
