Greenerd Press & Machine Co., Inc., Nashua, NH, has delivered a 1000-ton hydraulic coining press to the South Bend, IN plant of Global Parts Networks, LLC (GPN). GPN manufactures brake shoes, brake-shoe kits, friction material and related parts for tractor trailers and heavy-duty trucks.

The press is the firm’s second from Greenerd; both are used to coin remanufactured brake shoes in a single-stroke hand-fed operation. It’s an eight-point gib-guided press with a 36- by 36-in. bed, 28 in of daylight, 12-in. adjustable stroke and pressing speed to 23 in./min. A pre-slowdown circuit allows the operator to set the height for changeover from rapid-advance to pressing speed.
